The IT office is located in room 183 near the library. You can reach us by phone at the Help Line at extension 1421. Create a help ticket by sending an email to help@region1schools.org. In the subject line, name the issue (e.g. "Printing Problem") and as much info as you can in the body of the email. Creating a help ticket puts your issue into our task list and is the best way to ensure your issue is resolved quickly.
Help us help you
Rule 1 - Never live with a problem. The one cardinal sin in the IT world is living with an issue until it becomes an emergency. When something is not right, please submit a help ticket. You can tell us in the ticket if you don't want us to act on it until you are ready. By letting us know about an issue, it helps us integrate your issue into our support plan. Also, please report any issues before you leave for vacation; don't save it until your return.
Rule 2 - If you are planning an event at the school or making a software or hardware purchase, please let us know so we can make sure we can support it. If we can't support it, we will help you find another solution that we can support. It is not a permissions issue; it is a limitations issue.
There are several methods to receive help from the IT staff. The key is to submit a help ticket. A help ticket insures your issue will be acted on in a timely manner. You are welcome to come to the IT Office, call the help line at extension 1421 or stop us in the hallway to tell us about your issue. But, please follow up with a help ticket.
Never hesitate to come to IT with a question or problem. We will help you.

Please coordinate with IT before moving any computer, phone, or display equipment. It is also essential that you tell us before changing locations/rooms. This allows us to ensure full functionality and equipment accountability.
In past instances equipment and wireless has not functioned properly for many weeks before IT was made aware of a change. This has created tremendous frustration for students, staff and IT as well. As all ways, help us help you by keeping us in the loop.
We are a Google Suite (G Suite) school. Our primary communication method is via e-mail (GMail) in the G Suite. We also make extensive use of all the Google applications. The ability to control access to the items you create and share including Google Classroom as well as the ability to roll back to an earlier version are not just handy but very efficient.
Please become familiar with the apps (Google Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drawing, etc.) and use them whenever possible. Youtube has many helpful tutorials for each of the G Suite apps. You can arrange for training from IT if you have at least four students.
Our students are issued Chromebooks for their school work. The more familiar you are with the G Suite Apps the easier it will be for you and your students.
This web site has many links to information and resources you will need. Please take the time to look it over.

There is a copier room for staff use at the hallway intersection near room 117. You may also us the library copier which is also used by students. Each of our copiers is capable of scanning documents and delivering them to your email. The scanning capability permits you to upload paper documents to your G Suite classrooms and limit the need for paper copies. Paper usage is a large cost for the school, so please keep copying and printing to a minimum. There are additional copiers in the main office, Principal's office, Assistant Principal's office, and Guidance office. Please attempt to use the staff and library copiers first.
Save the trees
As stated above, making copies of or printing documents is very costly. Please consider scanning documents to convert them to a PDF file and have them sent to your email. The files can then be shared with your colleagues and or students. This is a very efficient use of the available technology and is a tremendous way to cut down paper use and waste. I urge you to become familiar with this process. Please see the Printers and Copiers page for instruction on how to install a printer or scan a document.
Our phone system is a Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) system which means that the phones are connected by Ethernet (Network) cables, not phone lines.
VOIP offers several advantages over traditional phones such as clarity and feature set. Additionally, phones can be moved to any active network port in the building and the phone number will remain the same.
Please see the Instructions and Tips page for more information
